How We Grow Matters!

PlanET Launches Third Round of Community Involvement with Small-Group Meetings and New Online Input Tool.

Our region’s population is predicted to grow to 1,000,000 by 2040. We need to make decisions now that will preserve our quality of life and provide for our economic well-being in the future. The choices we make today will ensure that our communities are great places to live tomorrow.

PlanET has recently launched its third round of community input to hear what the people who live, work, and play in East Tennessee want for their future.

Neighborhood groups and civic organizations around the region have already begun holding small-group meetings, called Meeting in a Box, to provide their input.

And on March 4th, opportunities for involvement will be expanded via our online participation tool. Not everyone likes to attend meetings. We understand that – so we have another way for you to weigh in on the things that matter most to you and the future of our region. Grab your laptop or tablet or log onto a public computer and join the conversation through our online tool. You can access the application anytime, anywhere at http://planet.metroquest.com

Whether you choose to participate online or in a small-group meeting, you’ll be asked to consider how our region might look in the future. An interactive, web-based application will let you see different ways that growth might occur, and you will be able to compare outcomes like transportation choices, job gains, housing options, and health impacts.

We invite you to get involved in this important effort. Help us define a future direction for our region – the decisions we make now matter!

Contact Sherith Colverson, sherith.colverson@planeasttn.org, to schedule a Meeting in a Box or for questions about use our new online community input tool.
