Meeting in a Box

Outreach Series 2 Meeting in a box is designed to encourage group conversation about the future residents want to see for the region. It then asks participants to prioritize ideas for a regional vision and finally to identify how these future priorities will apply to individual communities.

Economy and Workforce:
  1. Impact K-12 grades with more parental involvemnt and more emphasis on technology
  2. Bridging the gap between four year university and community college with more articulation of credits between the entities
  3. Increase in partnerships between employers and schools
Transportation and Infrastructure:
  1. More connectivity for non-moterized travel - not only bike lanes but dedicated greenways through nice scenery leading to urban hubs & other useful places.
  2. Maintain and improve existing infrastucture - retain from continuous new road construction projects.
Housing and Neighborhoods:
  1. Neighborhoods with localized recreation and local services (i.e. urban wilderness)
  2. Revitalize and increase incentives for revitalizing existing neighborhoods.
Healthy Communities:
  1. Start nutrition and fitness in schools
  2. Create more options for healthy eating and healthy lifestyles
Environment:
  1. Preserve new <sheds> and existing recreational areas while making the recreational areas accessible.
  2. Limit urban sprawl.
