Meeting in a Box

Outreach Series 2 Meeting in a box is designed to encourage group conversation about the future residents want to see for the region. It then asks participants to prioritize ideas for a regional vision and finally to identify how these future priorities will apply to individual communities.

Economy and Workforce:
  1. Developing employer incentives to create internship/mentorship opportunities for youth/young adults.
  2. Increased educational awareness of financial opportunities for any one who wants to continue, further education.
Transportation and Infrastructure:
  1. Organized car pooling for region.
  2. Everyone has a Vespa.
Housing and Neighborhoods:
  1. More greenways, sidewalks throughout all neighborhoods.
  2. Diverse neighborhoods w/smaller town centers where needs of community are met.
Healthy Communities:
  1. Minimize/Eliminate pain clinics
  2. Healthcare costs are reasonable/affordable health care
Environment:
  1. Clean air & water.
  2. Lots of trees.
Additional Comments:

Why will people want to stay, move to, or visit the region?

    • Region is laid-back, peaceful
    • People move here for job opportunities
    • Variety of activities available in region (rec/arts, etc.)
    • Quality & safety of schools.
Other issues related to the future of the region.
  • More financial investment in education to implement program (plans/outcomes)
